ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Based on their performances during the National Qualifier on April 10, five members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team advanced to the second round of action at the NCAA Championships. Freshman Tim Wang advanced to the April 11 meet in the all-around, while sophomore Denis Aurelius and the junior trio of Gared Chapman, Nick Gaudlip and Josh Ramos qualified as individual event specialists.

Wang finished fourth in the evening session's all-around, while Gaudlip earned the same placement on the high bar. Aurelius was the top individual qualifier on the floor exercise (sixth), while Chapman earned advancement on the still rings for the second straight year (ninth). Ramos rounded out the Falcons' field with a spot in the parallel bars rotation (16th).

The top three teams from each session of Thursday's National Qualifier (afternoon session - Oklahoma, Stanford, Illinois; evening session - Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State), the top-three all-arounders not on an advancing team, including Wang, and the top three individual event specialists that are not members of an advancing team or advanced as an all-around competitor, including Aurelius, Chapman, Gaudlip and Ramos, will compete on Friday at the team finals, all-around finals and individual event prelims.

Friday's meet, held at Michigan's Crisler Center, will determine the team and all-around champions, as well as the top 10 individuals from each event that will advance to Saturday's event finals.
