Air Force Earns Third Straight Berth to NCAA Qualifier

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 11th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team was selected to compete at the 2013 NCAA National Qualifier, the Men's Gymnastics Committee announced this afternoon (April 9). The invitation marks the third consecutive year that the Falcons have earned a spot at the national championship meet.

    Air Force amassed a National Qualifying Score of 422.687 to rank 11th in the national standings. The Falcons will open the national competition on Friday, April 19, in one of two qualifying sessions at Rec Hall in State College, Pa.

    Also qualifying to the 2013 NCAA Championships are No. 1 Penn State, No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Stanford, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 Minnesota, No. 7 Illinois, No. 8 Iowa, No. 9 California, No. 10 Nebraska and No. 13 Temple

    The national qualifier, which consists of two sessions (1 p.m., 7 p.m.), will be conducted April 19 at Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State University. The top three teams and top three all-around competitors not on one of the qualifying teams, plus the top three individuals on each event not already qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor, from each session will advance to the NCAA National Gymnastics Championships, which will take place on April 20 (team finals, 7 p.m.) and April 21 (event finals, 2 p.m.).
