SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – After leading the Air Force men’s gymnastics team to its seventh straight USA Gymnastics national title, the Falcons’ coaching staff received a pair of coaching accolades from their USAG counterparts. Jeff Robinson was named the USAG Varsity Head Coach of the Year, while Josiah and Josh Loeser shared the USAG Varsity Assistant Coach of the Year.
Robinson, in his first year as the Falcons’ head coach, has led Air Force to a #11 ranking in the national standings and the seventh USAG title in Academy history. This is the fifth USAG coaching honor for Robinson, who earned the division’s Assistant Coach of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.
Josh Loeser is in his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Falcons, while Josiah Loeser is in his first season on the Academy coaching staff. This is the third USAG Assistant Coach of the Year award for the elder Loeser brother, as he shared the honor with Robinson in 2013 and 2015.
Air Force successfully defended its national title for the seventh straight year on Friday night. Tim Wang captured individual event titles on the pommel horse and all-around, while Fletcher Braunton (still rings), Chase Cannon (high bar), Aaron Nubine (floor exercise), Arinn Wade (pommel horse) and Wang (pommel horse, parallel bars, high bar, all-around) earned USAG All-America distinction.
