Men's Gymnastics Head Coach Lou Burkel on Nebraska Meet

Sunday, March 4th (at #13 Nebraska). A quick wrap-up of the past week, starting with the dual meet at Nebraska… We had been practicing well the past three weeks and were very optimistic. We started off well and actually did a good job on the first four events, but we fizzled out on high bar and parallel bars with a lot of so-so performances. We did have a lot of routines that were changed, but still were disappointed in our performance.

All Around: Fourth- C3C Aaron Jackson, Fifth- C2C James Hayes. Floor Exercise: First-Jackson. Pommel Horse: Second-Hayes. Rings: Third-C2C Stephen Sistare.

Thursday, March 8th (vs #5 Michigan State & #12 Stanford). This meet came quickly since we were delayed and didn't get back from Lincoln until Monday afternoon. We didn't have much time to get ready, but managed to have our best meet of the year and close out our seniors' home careers the right way.

All Around: Fourth- Jackson, Fifth-Hayes. Floor Exercise: Third-Jackson. Rings: Third- Sistare. Vault: Third- C2C Matt Kenkel, Fifth- C1C Schan Daniel. Parallel Bars: Second- Kenkel & C1C Levi Torkelson.

High Bar: Sixth- C3C Justin Jones.

Up next: The men travel to Berkeley to meet #6 Iowa and #7 California on Friday, March 16. The women host Centenary & Penn on Friday, March 16 and on Sunday, March 18.
