Falcons Earn Third-Place Varsity Honors at Vidmar Invite
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Air Force men's gymnastics team posted a 194.050 to place fourth overall (third among varsity teams) at the Peter Vidmar Invitational in Los Angeles, Calif., on Thursday, March 3.
Seventh-ranked California won the meet with a score of 217.525, while 10th-ranked Stanford finished second with 212.025 points. Club-team Arizona State finished third with 197.850, while Washington's club team took fifth behind the Falcons with a total of 154.400. Freshman Nathan Glandon (Abilene, Texas) posted the team's best score on the floor with a season-best 8.750, while Ryan Stromstad (Corona, Calif.) was close behind with an 8.700. Sophomore Edwin Berry (El Cajon, Calif.) recorded the team's top score on the pommel horse with a mark of 7.575, while classmate Kurt Antonio (Rio Rancho, N.M.) claimed the top score on the rings with a 7.850. Stromstad also led the team on the vault with an 8.750, while Antonio's 8.275 on the parallel bars was the best of the night by a Falcon gymnast. Freshman Tyler Sickles (Mesa, Ariz.) continued to lead the team on the high bar with a career-best score of 8.550.
