Falcons Fall To UIC In Final Home Meet
March 3, 2002 U.S.A.F.A., Colo.- The Air Force men's gymnastics team dropped its final home meet of the regular season, 204.250 - 202.675, against Univ. Chicago-Illinois Sunday afternoon in the cadet Gymnasium?s West Gym. Air Force managed to secure five first-place finishes during Sunday?s meet. C2C (Jr.) Aaron Jackson took first in the all-around competition (51.625) and on floor (8.950) C1C (Sr.) Matthew Kenkel took the top honors on parallel bars (8.700) and vault (8.900). C1C James Hayes tied for first on pommel horse (8.500). Hayes also finished third all around (41650) followed by Kenkel who finished fifth (33.600). C2C Justin Jones took third on floor (8.650) and C4C (Fr.) Kent Reichle tied for fourth (8.600). Jackson took second on vault (8.875) and tied for second on rings with C1C Stephen Sistare with a score of 9.000 followed by Kenkel who took fourth (8.450) and C2C William Hermann who took fifth (8.350). On high bar, Jones finished third with a score of 8.600 and Jackson took fifth (8.350). Jackson also finished third on parallel bars (8.500).
The Falcons will be in action again Friday, March 8 with the women's team at the UC-Santa Barbara Invitational. The meet begins at 7 p.m.
