Brian Moore Wins All-Around at PV Invitational
BRENTWOOD, Calif. -- With a combined score of 45.000, senior Brian Moore won the all-around at the Peter Vidmar Invitational on Thursday, March 2, in Brentwood, Calif. As a team, the Falcons finished second of varsity-level teams and fourth overall.
Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe, Cal, won the meet with a score of 213.000, easily distancing itself from the rest of the competition. The club teams of Washington and Arizona State finished second and third, respectively, with scores of 182.900 and 180.300. Air Force placed fourth with a score of 178.050, while UCLA finished fifth with an 88.225.
Moore scored a 45.000 to win the multi-event by over half of a point. Contributing to his total was a ninth-place score of 7.750 on the high bar. He also posted a top-10 score of 7.650 on the parallel bars, while adding 8.200 on the vault, 7.250 on the still rings, 7.200 on the floor exercise and 6.950 on the pommel horse.
Junior Kurt Antonio finished fifth in the all-around with a total of 43.675. His 8.575 on the vault was good enough for seventh-place. Freshman Andrew Terrell earned a pair of top-10 marks, as he tied for eighth on the floor exercise with a 7.650 and tied for ninth on the vault with an 8.400. Sophomore Tyler SIckers earned an 8.050 on the high bar to tie for seventh.
