WOODLAND, Calif. - Air Force senior team captain Nash Mills was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon (Feb. 22). Mills was instrumental in the Falcons claiming their first All-Academy Championship trophy since 2000. It is the first weekly award of the season for Mills and the fourth of his career.

Mills claimed a share of two events titles and won the all-around outright to lead the Falcons to the title at the All-Academy Championships and the second-best team score in Academy history on Feb. 20.

Against his service academy counterparts from Army and Navy, the native of Coto de Caza, Calif., who also claimed the Academy's Athlete of the Week award, tied with classmate Devin Menefee for first on the still rings with a career-best matching score of 14.800. He also tied freshman Colton Wulf for first on the parallel bars, accumulating a season-best score of 14.300. With a third-place score on the vault (15.600) and a fourth-place tie on the high bar (13.800), Mills collected a season-high combined score of 85.800 to win the all-around.

Mills also collected a pair of top-three finishes at the Minnesota dual meet on Feb. 18, en route to an all-around total of 81.700. The senior tied for second on the high bar with a score of 13.800, while tying for third on the still rings with a mark of 14.300.

He is the second Falcon to earn the league's weekly honor this season, joining Wulf, who earned the honor on Feb. 1.

The Falcons are idle until Friday, March 4, when they travel to Chicago for a pair of quad meets at Illinois-Chicago. Air Force opens the weekend against Stanford, Illinois and Illinois-Chicago on Friday, before facing UIC, Temple and Ohio State on Sunday (March 6).
