Falcons Gear Up for Pacific Coast Classic

    The Air Force men's gymnastics team will travel to Oakland, Calif., for the annual Pacific Coast Classic on Saturday, Feb. 23. Air Force will take on Arizona State, Washington and the New Zealand Harbour Gymnastics Centre, as well as individuals from Stanford and Cal. Top qualifiers from Friday's Level 10 competition will also take part in the meet.

    STINE EARNS SECOND NATIONAL AWARD
    Greg Stine was named the Gymnast of the Week by the College Gymnastics Association for the second time this season on Feb. 18, after winning three events at the All-Academy Championships. It is the fifth CGA award in the last two years for Stine.

    "RANK" YOU VERY MUCH
    Air Force boasts two gymnasts ranked among the top-10 on the still rings - a feat only accomplished by one other team in the nation. Ranked second, Greg Stine has a three-score average of 15.025 on the still rings - a mark just .083 shy of the national leader. Jacob Schonig is ranked sixth with a average of 15.167. As a team, the Falcons are ranked eighth with a combined average of 57.667.

    AIR FORCE TAKES ANOTHER WIN FROM ARMY
    Backed by four event victories, Air Force finished second at the annual All-Academy Championships on Feb. 17. Greg Stine posted the highest finishes on the vault, parallel bars and high bar, while Jacob Schonig won the still rings. As a team, the Falcons won the still rings (56.750) and vault (58.850), en route to a combined score of 322.800.

    WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
    Air Force continues on the road for the Southwest Cup in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday, March 1. The Falcons will take on Arizona State and Washington for the second straight weekend and the third time this season, as the trio also met at the Rocky Mountain Open in January.
