Falcons Fall to Minnesota in First Road Dual

    MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The 11th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team dropped its first road meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 26, as it fell to seventh-ranked Minnesota by a 430.600-404.450 margin at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn.

    Four Falcons collected top-three finishes at Minnesota's Sports Pavilion. Juniors Tyler Huebner and Nick Owen earned the third-place finishes on the still rings (season-best 14.850) and pommel horse (14.000), respectively. Sophomore Josh Ramos earned a third-place score of 14.300 on the parallel bars, while senior Tory Brown earned the same placement on the vault (14.650).

    Brown also picked up a pair of fifth-place finishes on the vault (14.000) and high bar (13.300).

    Sophomore Nick Gaudlip paced the Falcons on the floor exercise, tallying a 14.500 to finish fifth. Freshman Josh Pyne, who tied for fifth on the vault with a score of 14.300, also claimed a place within the top half of the field on the floor exercise, as he finished sixth with a mark of 14.250. Sophomore Jon Spiro scored a 13.000 to finish fifth on the pommel horse, while classmate Gared Chapman scored a season-best 14.150 to place sixth on the still rings.

     

     

    The Falcons return to action next Friday (Feb. 1), as they travel to Seattle to face Washington at 7 p.m.
