WHY USAFA?: "I came to the Air Force Academy for opportunities. I've already traveled abroad to Japan! I am looking forward to flying in the Air Force."
JUNIOR (2010): Competed on the floor exercise and parallel bars in 10 team competitions...also competed on the vault in six meets...collected season-best scores on both the floor exercise and parallel bars at the dual meet with Illinois-Chicago...scored a 14.700 on the floor and a 14.000 on the parallel bars at that meet...scored a 15.100 on the vault in the season-opening Rocky Mountain Open...matched that score at Army...named to the MPSF all-academic team.
SOPHOMORE (2009): Competed in every team competition...invited to compete on two events at the NCAA Championships for the second straight year...posted career-best marks on the floor exercise (14.950) and vault (15.400) during the Falcons' victory over Army...won the floor exercise at that meet, helping Air Force to its first home victory over Army in four attempts...the floor score is ranked fifth in the program's all-time record book, while the vault score is tied for sixth...set a career-best score on the still rings (13.850) at the USAG Championships (team finals)...won the floor exercise at the Southwest Cup with a score of 14.500...competed on the parallel bars in every team competition, collecting a season-high 13.850 against Army...posted the best finish for Air Force at the season-opening Rocky Mountain Open, taking fifth on the vault...named to the MPSF all-academic team.
FRESHMAN (2008): Competed in every team competition...one of six Falcons to be invited to the NCAA Championships...participated on the floor exercise and parallel bars are the national meet...scored a career-best 14.850 to tie for first on the floor exercise in the first meet against Illinois-Chicago...that mark was one of the best on the team...finished the season ranked 10th in the national rankings (USAG Division) with a National Qualifying Average of 14.200...also competed on the vault and parallel bars...set a career-high of 14.900 on the vault at Springfield...posted a 13.900 on the parallel bars against Illinois-Chicago...named to the College Gymnastics Association All-America Scholar-Athlete Team.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was home schooled...competed at the club level for Butler Gymnastics...coached by Dave McKinnis and Kevin Halinan...named "Most Improved" Gymnast...attended the Junior Olympic National Meet on three occasions...twice named first-team Academic All-American.
PERSONAL: Full name is James Aaron Zaiser...goes by Aaron...nickname is "Aardog Z-boy Zaiser"......son of Barry and Kim Zaiser...has one older sister, Rebekah, who was a 2010 All-American gymnast at Florida...also has one younger brother, Ben , who is a freshman on the Air Force gymnastics team...majoring in civil engineering...hopes to attend pilot training after graduation...served as Group Safety Officer and Basic Flight Commander...has also served as Global Engagement First Sergeant as an Athletics Clerk...named to the Dean's List and Athletic Director's List...named "Outstanding Basic" for the Class of 2011...hobbies include water sports (skiing, wakeboarding and tubing)...spent part of the summer on an Air Force trip to Egypt...favorite event is the floor exercise...member of Cadet Squadron 12.
