    WHY USAFA?: "I chose to come to USAFA because of gymnastics mainly, but it has come to be more than that. Now, it's the reason I stay at USAFA. I stay at USAFA because I have realized all of the opportunities I am given. Not only here at the Academy, but in the adventurous state of Colorado. I receive world class education and training for free. This summer, I got to solo jump out of an airplane and kayak my first class 5 rapid - all in the same week!"


    FRESHMAN (2009): Competed on the pommel horse during every team competition...set a career-best 13.700 in collegiate debut at the Rocky Mountain Open...that mark was just .100 off of the Academy record...matched that score two meets later in a winning effort at Temple...also won the pommel horse against Army with a score of 13.350.

    HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Knoxville Catholic High School...three-time Academic All-American...Eagle Scout...competed at the club level for Premier Athletics...coached by Phil Savage...four-time Tennessee state champion.

    PERSONAL: Full name is Charles Eugene Nobles...goes by Chase...son of Chuck and Lorri Nobles...has one older brother, Josh (27), and one older sister, Heather (21)...majoring in systems engineering management...future plans include becoming a pilot...favorite event is the pommel horse...enjoys extreme whitewater kayaking on the weekends...member of Cadet Squadron 36.
