SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2017 (new scoring system): NCAA participant on the high bar...competed on that event 13 meets...scored a career-best 14.450 to finish sixth at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships...that was tied for the best score on the team in 2017...tallied second-highest score of career (14.300) to finish 10th at the NCAA Championships...qualified to first national championship meet after finishing seventh (13.900) at the National Qualifier...placed third on that event (13.200) to help Air Force to its eighth-straight USAG team title...also competed on the vault 13 times...registered a personal-best 14.350 to finish fifth at Oklahoma...competed on the still rings in four meets...earned All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors from the MPSF.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2016: Competed on the high bar in every team competition...debuted in 20th on the Academy’s all-time standings on that event after recording a career-high 14.500 in the meet with Minnesota...matched that score during the team finals of the USAG Collegiate National Championships...competed on the vault in seven meets...scored a personal-best 14.500 at Army West Point...that mark is ranked 17th in the program record book...also listed among the top-20 list (19th) with a pair of 14.400 scores at Nebraska and at All-Academy Championship)...received All-American Scholar-Athlete honors from the College Gymnastics Association.

HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: Waukesha West High School...member of the National Honor Society...ranked 12th in graduating class of 292...competed at the club level for Salto Gymnastics...coached by Vitali Rudnitski and Mitch Connor...was a member of the Junior National Team...ranked first in the nation on the high bar in the Junior Olympic competition...earned All-American honors for four straight years.

PERSONAL: Full name is Lukas Manuel Texeira...nickname is “The Tank”...son of David and Lisa Texeira...has one younger sibling...majoring in systems engineering management, with a mechanical engineering depth option...also earning a minor in Spanish...future plans include becoming a pilot or developmental engineer...named to the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s List...hobbies include video games, fishing and hunting...first person in family to participate in a collegiate sport and join the military...favorite event is the high bar, because “I love the technical aspect of it”...completed Operation Air Force over the summer...also took leave and served as Confidence Course cadre during Basic Cadet Training...received Jump Wings in the summer of 2016...member of Cadet Squadron 29.
