SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2017 (new scoring system): USAG All-American on the floor exercise...competed on that event in 11 meets...posted a career-best score of 13.850 during the team finals of the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships...scored a 13.700 the following night to place fourth in the event finals and capture USAG All-America status...member of the vault lineup for 12 competitions...ranked third on the team in that event...scored a career-best 14.550 to win the vault during the Falcons’ win over Army West Point...placed second (14.350) at the Navy Triangular...competed on the high bar and parallel bars three times... tallied a career-high 13.000 to help Air Force to a 1-2-3 finish on the high bar in the win over Illinois-Chicago...earned All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2016: Competed in all 12 team competitions...debuted on the program’s all-time standings in two events...posted a career-best score of 15.000 on the floor exercise at the All-Academy Championships...that score is ranked 10th on the Academy’s all-time list...recorded a career-high 14.750 to win the vault during the team finals of the USAG Collegiate National Championships...that is the 12th-highest score in program history...debuted on the all-time standings following a 14.650 performance at Nebraska (14th)...member of the high bar rotation in every meet...scored a personal-best 14.400 in the Falcons’ first victory over Illinois-Chicago...broke the 14-point mark on the parallel bars (14.050) during the USAG team finals...also competed on the still rings twice...received All-American Scholar-Athlete honors from the College Gymnastics Association.

PERSONAL: Full name is Eric Christopher Klein...nickname is “RIC”...son of Steven and Kelly Carroll...mother is in the Northeastern University Hall of Fame as a field hockey player...has one younger sister...majoring in civil engineering...also earning a minor in German...future plans include becoming a civil engineering officer...has served as Public Affairs NCO...also served as the superintendent of the Confidence Course during Basic Cadet Training during the summer of 2017...member of the 500 Club...named to the Superintendent’s List for excellence in military, academic and athletic performance...hobbies include driving, Netflix, video games and hanging out with friends...first person in family to join the military since great-grandfather fought in World War II...favorite event is the high bar, because “it never gets boring and you can always push the limits”...completed Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training (ESET) over the summer...also took academic classes...member of Cadet Squadron 17.
