About the Service Academy Golf Classic...
The Service Academy Golf Classic, which features teams from Air Force, Army, Merchant Marines and Navy, is now in its 16th season. Started in 1993 by Air Force graduate Bill Reemtsma, the Classic was annually held in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for its first 14 years. After a two-year hiatus, the event was moved to the Washington, D.C., area beginning in 2009.

The winning team of the tournament is awarded the Bill Reemtsma Memorial Trophy, while the individual winner receives the Nick Stafford Medalist Trophy.

Air Force Dominance At the SAGC...
In 15 years at the Service Academy Golf Classic, Air Force has won 13 consecutive team titles, while finishing as the runner-up in the first two seasons. In addition, Air Force golfers have won medalist honors 10 times (while tying for first place on one occasion).

Ben Leestma, a 2002 Air Force graduate, echoed the Falcons' dominance at the event, winning medalist honors in each of his four seasons. Current senior Kyle Bailey is the defending SAGC medalist, after posting a 5-under-par 211 in 2009 (which included a tournament-record single-round score of 65).

    Last Time Out...
Air Force finished 13th at the inaugural CU-Mark Simpson Invitational, held Sept. 27-28 in Erie, Colo. The Falcons posted a team score of 911 for the event.

Sophomore Wes Denny, competing as an individual, was the top overall performer for Air Force, tying for 24th place with a score of 220 (+4). Meanwhile, freshman Kyle Westmoreland led the Falcons' team, tying for 27th overall at 221.
