    Coming Up
    The Air Force golf team continues its season on Monday, Sept. 24 when it heads to Erie, Colo., for the third annual Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, being held at the par-72, 7,741-yard Colorado National Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament is slated to begin with two rounds on Monday with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start, while the final round will begin Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 8:00 a.m.

    The Field
    Fourteen teams are slated to compete in the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. They are: Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Gonzaga, Houston Baptist, Kansas, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Texas-Arlington, Texas State, Utah and Wyoming.

    Last Time Out
    The Falcons finished in a tie for 14th place at the Ram Masters Invitational Tuesday at the Fort Collins Country Club with a three-round total of 905 on the par-70, 7,121-yard course. Junior Kyle Westmoreland was the Falcons' top finisher, ending in a tie for 11th place after a third-round 74 gave him a three-round total of six-over par 216, six shots behind tournament champion Jordan Wetsch of host Colorado State. Senior Andrew Hoops finished in a tie for 52nd with a total of 226, while junior Philip Colwell tied for 61st at 228.

    Eisenhower Blue Course
    The Eisenhower Golf Club--Blue Course opened in 1959 and is named after former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who took part in the dedication ceremony. In its recent list of the Best Campus Courses, Golfweek has recognized the Eisenhower Golf Club - Blue Course as one of the best in the nation. The Falcons' home course checks in at No. 21 on the list and is one of just two Mountain West Conference home courses to be recognized (New Mexico's Championship Course is listed at No. 16).

    Head Coach George Koury
    This fall, Air Force head coach George Koury enters his 11th season at the helm of the Falcons' golf program. After serving three seasons as an assistant under legendary coach Gene Miranda, Koury took over the program at the start of the 2002-03 season.

    Up Next
    The Falcons will travel to Macon Ga., for the Brickyard Collegiate Championship hosted by the Mercer University on Fri.-Sun., Oct. 5-7.
