Albuquerque, N.M. - (Sept. 22) The Air Force golf team kicked off its fall schedule in disappointing fashion, finishing in 18th place of 20 teams at the Tucker Invitational.

The Falcons struggled in their first tournament of the season, as the team shot a three-round total of 910 (306-304-300) - 46 strokes over par and 51 strokes behind the tournament winner. New Mexico, the tournament's host, won the event by 11 strokes, as the Lobos carded a five-under-par total of 859.

All but one Air Force golfer finished in the bottom half of the event. Ben Leestma, who finished 37th overall, was the top finisher for the Falcons. He carded a three-round total of 223 (74-75-74).

The Falcons look to improve next week, when the team participates in the Michigan Invitational on Sept. 28-30.
