Falcons Back in Action at Ron Moore Fall Invitational

The Air Force golf team return to action next week, Sept. 15-16, at the Ron Moore Fall Invitational, hosted by Denver at the par-72, 7,239-yard Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament is slated to begin with two rounds on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. Both days will begin with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
Scouting the Falcons... Leading the way for Air Force at the Falcon Invitational was junior Tom Whitney, who placed sixth overall with a score of 212 (-4). His score ranks as the 20th-lowest in the individual record books at the Academy. Meanwhile, senior Shaun O'Bryant also turned in a solid performance on the opening weekend, finishing tied for 12th at 217 (+1) after firing a 69 in the final round of play.
The Field...
Air Force in the Record Books... Meanwhile, junior Tom Whitney posted a score of 212, ranking 20th in the individual record books. Whitney now owns five of the 20 lowest individual scores in Air Force history, tying with 2007 graduate Tyler Goulding, who also has five. Whitney's performance also marked the eighth time he has fired a 214 or lower in a 54-hole tournament (Goulding did so 13 times).
Up Next... The Falcons are back in action next week, Sept. 26-27, at the annual William H. Tucker Invitational, hosted by New Mexico.
