About the Falcon Invitational
This fall, the Falcon Invitational enters its 45th season. Formerly known as the Rocky Mountain Invitational and the Pikes Peak Invitational, the event was re-named the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in 2003, in honor of the legendary coach who headed up the Air Force program for 25 years.
Last season, Colorado ran away with the team title, winning by 12 strokes over UNLV and Coastal Carolina. The Buffaloes shot a 12-under par total of 852. Individually, CU’s Jason Burstyn captured medalist honors, shooting a nine-under par total of 207, three shots better than runner-up Tanner Higham of Utah State.

Eisenhower Blue Course
The Eisenhower Golf Club - Blue Course opened in 1959 and is named after former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who took part in the dedication ceremony. In its most recent list of the Best Campus Courses, Golfweek has recognized the Eisenhower Golf Club - Blue Course as one of the best in the nation. The Falcons’ home course checks in at No. 21 on the list and is one of just two Mountain West Conference home courses to be recognized (New Mexico’s Championship Course is listed at No. 16).

Head Coach George Koury
This fall, Air Force head coach George Koury enters his 12th season at the helm of the Falcons’ golf program. After serving three seasons as an assistant under legendary coach Gene Miranda, Koury took over the program at the start of the 2002-03 season.

Up Next
The Falcons will travel to Erie, Colo., for the Mark Simpson Invitational on Mon.-Tues., Sept. 23-24.
