Falcons Open Season at Ballyneal Challenge

    Ballyneal Challenge
    The Air Force golf team opens its 2012-13 season on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Ballyneal Challenge in Holyoke, Colo. The Falcons and the University of Colorado will each send eight players for a 36-hole individual tournament at the par-71 Ballyneal Golf Club. Play begins at 8 a.m.

    Representing the Falcons are senior Andrew Hoops, juniors Philip Colwell, Jack Howard, Blake Jones, Ryan Kramer, Miguel Macias and Kyle Westmoreland and freshman Nick Reisch.

    Coming Up Next
    Next weekend, Air Force will host the 44th annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Eisenhower Golf Club - Blue Course. The 54-hole tournament is slated to begin with two rounds on Sunday, Sept. 9 with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start, while the final round will begin Monday, Sept. 10 at 8:15 a.m.

    Formerly known as the Rocky Mountain Invitational and the Pikes Peak Invitational, the event was re-named the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in 2003, in honor of the legendary coach who headed up the Air Force program for 25 years.
