Tom Whitney Concludes Opening Day at Colorado Open

DENVER, Colo. - After one round of competition, Air Force golfer Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) currently sits tied for 90th place at the 2009 HealthONE Colorado Open, being held at the par-71, 7,211-yard Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.
With an eagle and a pair of birdies, all on par-5 holes, Whitney finished Thursday's round at 74 (+3). Meanwhile, Derek Tolan and former San Diego State golfer Aaron Goldberg lead the standings at 6-under-par after one round of action.
After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 60 scores, along with any ties. Round three will be held Saturday, July 25, while the final round will tee off on Sunday morning.
Whitney will begin the second round of the Colorado Open tomorrow morning, as he tees off from hole 10 at 7:30 a.m.
