The Air Force golf team competes this weekend, March 25-26, at the Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston at the 7,125-yard, par-72 Laredo Country Club. The first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament will be played Friday, while the final round is scheduled for Saturday.
Last Time Out...
The Air Force golf team posted its best score in the final round to place ninth at the San Diego Intercollegiate Classic, held March 14-15 in Chula Vista, Calif. The Falcons, with the low five individual scores counted in each round, finished with a three-round mark of 1165.
Freshman Kyle Westmoreland was the top performer for the Falcons, tying for 31st place with a score of 226 (+10), while Caleb Leestma and Philip Colwell were next for Air Force, tying for 41st place at 230.
Nineteen teams are slated to compete at this weekend's Border Olympics, including Arkansas, which is ranked 16th in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll. The Falcons head to Scottsdale, Ariz., April 4-5 for the annual Cowboy Classic, hosted by conference rival Wyoming.
