The Air Force golf team travels to Laredo, Texas this weekend for the Border Olympics. The 54-hole event will take place at the par-72, 7,125-yard Laredo Country Club. The tournament is scheduled for March 14-15, with 36 holes beginning at 9 a.m., on Friday and an 18 holes on Saturday with an 8 a.m., shotgun start.
Joining Air Force and host USF in the tournament will be Oklahoma, Houston, Baylor, Central Arkansas, Lamar, Texas Arlington, Louisiana Monroe, UT-San Antonio, Northern Colorado, Texas Pan-American, Sam Houston State, McNeese State, Houston Baptist, Gonzaga, and Stephen F. Austin. Playing for the Falcons this weekend are seniors Kyle Westmoreland, Jack Howard, Philip Colwell and freshmen Andy Germann and Sunwoo Choi.

The Air Force golf team finished in a tie for 15th place after the third and final round of the University of South Florida Invitational in Dade City, Fla. The Falcons shot a two-under par 286 Tuesday, their only sub-par round in the three-day event.
Individually, senior Kyle Westmoreland posted another top 10 finish as he tied for seventh place after shooting his second six-under par 66 of the tournament on Tuesday. Westmoreland, who shot a nine-under par total of 207, finished in the top 10 for the fourth time this season and the 16th time in his career. He gathered an eagle and five birdies Tuesday before recording his only bogey of the day on the finishing hole.
WESTMORELAND NAMED MOUNTAiN WEST GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Air Force senior Kyle Westmoreland was selected Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played Feb. 24 – March 4. This is Westmoreland’s fourth MW weekly/monthly accolade of his career. Westmoreland, from Katy, Texas, posted his 15th and 16th top 10 finishes in his career that week. He finished tied for fourth with a nine-under par total of 207 and helped Air Force tie for the team title at the Snowman Getaway held Feb. 24-25 in Goodyear, Ariz., prior to his seventh-place tie at USF.
HEAD COACH George Koury
Air Force head coach George Koury is in his 12th season at the helm of the Falcons’ golf program. After serving three seasons as an assistant under legendary coach Gene Miranda, Koury took over the program at the start of the 2002-03 season.
The Falcons will play at The Duck Invitational, hosted by the Univeristy of Oregon in Eugene, Ore., March 24-25.
