The tournament is scheduled for March 11-12, with 36 holes played Monday and the final 18 holes played Tuesday.

Joining Air Force and host South Dakot State in the tournament will be North Dakota State, Illinois State, Drake, Youngstown State, Idaho, Weber State, Oakland, Southern Illinois, Augustana, Creighton, Arkansas State and North Dakota. The Falcons will send Kyle Westmoreland, Blake Edwards, Andrew Hoops, Jack Howard and Philip Colwell as the team of five players.

Air Force opened its 2013 spring schedule with a fifth-place finish at the 2013 Snowman Getaway, hosted by Washington State University. Junior Kyle Westmoreland was AFA’s top individual, finishing in a tie for sixth place with a three-round total of two-under par 214 on the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. Westmoreland fired a career-best 66 in the second round. The Falcons shot a final round 289, with three players, Westmoreland and juniors Philip Colwell and Jack Howard, each shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday. Senior Andrew Hoops fired a one-over par 73 and sophomore Blake Edwards turned in a 74.

HEAD COACH George Koury
Air Force head coach George Koury is in his 11th season at the helm of the Falcons’ golf program. After serving three seasons as an assistant under legendary coach Gene Miranda, Koury took over the program at the start of the 2002-03 season.
Koury, a 1993 Academy graduate and former team captain and MVP, has helped the Falcons continue their dominance at the Service Academy Golf Classic, winning 14 straight titles at the event. In addition, he helped lead Air Force to the team title at the 2005 Falcon Invitational, marking the first time since the inaugural event in 1969 that the team won its own tournament outright.

The Falcons return to action on March 21 at the 2013 Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz.
