Air Force Back in Action at Desert Intercollegiate

    The Air Force golf team returns to action this weekend, Feb. 26-27, at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, being played at the 7,322-yard, par-72 Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. The first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament will be played Saturday, with the final round scheduled for Sunday. Both days will begin with a 7:45 a.m. (PT) shotgun start.

    Last Time Out...
    Led by senior Kyle Bailey, the Air Force golf team opened the 2011 spring season with a 16th-place finish at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. The Falcons posted a three-round score of 908 (+56).

    Bailey fired a three-round score of 227 (+14) to tie for 61st individually, while teammates Philip Colwell and Wes Denny finished a stroke behind in a tie for 64th place. Also competing for the Falcons were Andrew Hoops and Kyle Westmoreland, who finished tied for 78th place at 232.

    The Field...
    Twenty teams are slated to compete in this year's UW Desert Intercollegiate, including eighth-ranked Texas A&M, as well as five teams from the Mountain West Conference.
