Air Force and Army tied for the team championship at the 2012 Service Academy Golf Classic Tuesday in Colts Neck, N.J. The two teams shot identical scores all three rounds as the Falcons claimed their 16th consecutive team title and Army won its first since 1994. Navy, which led by six strokes after the second round, finished eight strokes back in third place.

Army's Anthony Kim won the individual championship while Air Force senior Andrew Hoops finished in second place, two strokes back with a three-round total of 219 (+3). Junior Philip Colwell finished third at 220 (+4) while defending champion Kyle Westmoreland placed sixth at 224 (+8). Colwell and Westmoreland each fired a team-best 71 on in the final round on Tuesday.

"Chris (Assistant Coach Chris Wilson) and I are proud of the way we competed today," said Air Force head coach George Koury. "We executed some clutch shots down the stretch. Andrew showed great senior leadership throughout the event. We have a number of things to work on in the off season and will be better in the spring."

Freshman Michael Fan posted his best finish as a Falcon, finishing in a tie for 10th place with a total of 229 (+13). Fan played the tournament as an individual player and was not part of AFA's six players that comprised the scoring team. Juniors Todd Berglund (T, 12th/230), Jack Howard (T, 16th/233) and Blake Jones (20th/236) rounded out the scoring team.

Juniors Ryan Kramer and Miguel Macias, playing as individuals, finished 18th and 25th, respectively.

The Falcons are idle until opening the spring slate at the Snowman Getaway Tournament in Goodyear, Ariz., beginning Feb. 25, 2013.
