Falcons in Fifth Place After Two Rounds at Wimberly Intercollegiate

The Air Force golf team is in fifth place after two rounds of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M. The Falcons followed up a first-round 292 with a 295 in the second round for a two-round total of 587 (+19).
Freshman Andy Germann leads the Falcons individually in just his second career tournament and is in a tie for 10th place with a one-over par total of 143. Germann shot an even-par 71 in the first round, followed by a one-over par 72 in the second round.
"I am very proud of Andy and his first event away from home," said head coach George Koury. "Our guys played well on a tough golf course, but we have to be even better tomorrow."
Senior Kyle Westmoreland, who held a share of the first-round lead with a two-under par 69, shot a 75 in the second round and is in a tie for 13th place at two-over par 144. Fellow senior Jack Howard is tied for 22nd with a four-over par 146 after a 74 and a 72 on Monday. Senior Philip Colwell and sophomore Matthew Dunn are tied for 76th at 156.
"Kyle had a solid first round and he and Jack (Howard) showed great leadership battling throughout the day," said Koury.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
