Falcons Wrap Up Opening Day at Wolf Pack Classic

    RENO, Nev. - Led by junior Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.), the Air Force golf team currently sits in 12th place at the Wolf Pack Classic, hosted by Nevada at the 7,100-yard, par-72 Wolf Run Golf Course. The Falcons finished the first two rounds with a score of 594 (+18).

    Whitney, who fired a 2-under-par 70 in the opening round, is currently tied for 10th place at 142. Sophomore Aaron White (Hereford, Texas), after turning in a score of 72 in the second round, is next in the individual standings for Air Force, tied for 40th at 148.

    Senior Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.) is tied for 51st place after two rounds, while classmate Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is tied for 58th at the end of the first day. Rounding out the group for the Falcons are sophomore Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas) and junior Peter Guzowski (Tiffin, Ohio), competing as an individual, both tied for 74th place.

    New Mexico State and Tennessee are tied for the team lead with a score of 568 (-8). Meanwhile, Wichita State's Dustin Garza sits atop the individual leaderboard at 132 (-12).

    The final round of the tournament begins tomorrow with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
