Air Force Finishes Eighth At Shootout at Angel Park

    Las Vegas, Nev. - After firing an even-par 284 in the final round, the Air Force golf team finished eighth this weekend at the Shootout at Angel Park, hosted by Hawaii at the 6,722-yard, par-71 Angel Park Golf Course. The Falcons finished at 883 for the weekend, while UNLV captured the team title at 840. Winning medalist honors was Gonzaga's Brandon Crick at 207 (-7).

    Sophomore Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) led the way for Air Force, shooting a 66 on Sunday to finish the weekend at a 1-over-par 214, tying for 10th overall. Junior Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.) was next for the Falcons, tying for 37th at 221, while freshmen Aaron White (Hereford, Texas) and Jack Kasting (Jenks, Okla.) came in at 228 and 229, respectively. In addition, junior Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.), disqualified in the opening round, helped the Falcons to their best round of the weekend by shooting a 70 on Sunday.

    Air Force returns to action Oct. 8-9 at the Wolf Pack Classic, hosted by Nevada.
