Air Force Wraps Up Opening Day at Tucker Invitational

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - With two rounds complete, the Air Force golf team sits in 13th place at the William H. Tucker Invitational, hosted by New Mexico at the 7,403-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course. The Falcons posted a two-round total of 607 (+31).

    Leading the way for Air Force on day one of the Tucker Invitational was junior Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.), who is tied for 31st at 149. Senior Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) who opened the day with an even-par round, is next on the individual leaderboard, tied for 50th at 151, while classmate Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.) is just a stroke behind in a tie for 59th place.

    Rounding out the group for the Falcons are sophomore Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas), tied for 72nd place at 156, and freshman Robert Belz (San Antonio, Texas), tied for 87th at 162. Meanwhile, Aaron White (So., Hereford, Texas), competing as an individual, finished the opening day tied for 85th with a two-round score of 161.

    The host Lobos lead the field after two rounds, with a score of 564 (-12). Meanwhile, New Mexico's Brandon Putnam, competing unattached, is atop the individual leaderboard at 138 (-6).

    The final round of the tournament begins tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
