U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team is in fourth place after first day of the annual Mark Simpson Invitational, hosted by the University of Colorado, Monday, Sept. 25, at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo. The 19-team tournament concludes with the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Sept. 26, starting at 8 a.m.
Air Force shot a four-under 284 in the first round and a two-under 286 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 570 (-6). Colorado leads the tournament with a 561 (-15) while Wyoming is second (563, -13) and Utah is third (565, -11)
Junior Bryant Falconello is in second place after shooting a six-under 138 over 36 holes. After a 70 in the first round, he shot a career-best 68 in the second round. Sophomore Joseph Crisostomo is tied for sixth with a five-under 139. After an opening round 71, he tied his career best with a 68 in round two. Junior Tate Tatom shot a two-over 146 while junior Andy Germann shot a six-over 149. Junior Turner Howe, playing as an individual, is tied for 27th overall, at even-par 144.
