Falcons Finish Weekend At Tucker Invitational

Albuquerque, N.M. - After the completion of the final round of play, the Air Force golf team finished in 20th place at the William H. Tucker Invitational, being held at the 7,354-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course. Host New Mexico captured the team title, firing a three-round total of 874, finishing just one stroke ahead of second-place BYU. Meanwhile, the Lobos' Charlie Beljan won medalist honors, finishing at 6-under-par (210), a stroke ahead of UNLV's Jared Texter. Leading the way for Air Force on the weekend was senior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.), who finished tied for 23rd overall with a three-round score of 222 (+6). Freshman Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) was next in the standings for the Falcons, finishing tied for 84th at 233. Rounding out the group for Air Force were senior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas) at 236, junior Bob Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) at 238 and sophomore Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) at 250. The Falcons return to action Oct. 2-3, when they head to Reno, Nev., to take part in the Wolf Pack Invvitational, hosted by Nevada.
