Air Force Wraps Up Competition At Tucker Invitational

Albuquerque, N.M. - After three rounds of action, the Air Force golf team finished in 16th place at the William H. Tucker Invitational, being held at the 7,272-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course. Turning in their best round on Saturday, the Falcons finished at 919. Pepperdine won the team championship at an even-par 864, led by Jesse Barnsley, who earned medalist honors, finishing at 204 (-12). Junior Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led Air Force for the weekend, finishing tied for 54th place at 228. Bob Whitney (Sr., La Quinta, Calif.) finished in a tie for 74th at 232, while Andrew Gibson (Jr., San Ramon, Calif.), Tom Whitney (So., La Quinta, Calif.) and Jack Kasting (Fr., Jenks, Okla.), who fired a 71 in round three, all finished a stroke behind at 233. The Falcons return to action Sept. 24-25 at the Jim Colber Intercollegiate, hosted by Kansas State.
