Air Force Wraps Up Day One At Falcon Invitational

USAFA, Colo. - At the end of two rounds, the Air Force golf team sits in 13th place at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, being held at the 7,301-yard, par-72 Eisenhower Blue Course. After a disappointing day one, the Falcons sit at 594. Leading the way in the team standings on day one is UTEP at 556 (-20), while Iowa State's Chris Baker leads the individual standings at 135 (-9). Junior Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.), currently tied for 22nd, leads Air Force after two rounds with a score of 145 (+1), while Shaun O'Bryant (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) is tied for 30th at 147. Rounding out the group for the Falcons are Jack Kasting (Fr., Jenks, Okla.), Bob Whitney (Sr., La Quinta, Calif.) and Tom Whitney (So., La Quinta, Calif.). In addition to its varsity group, the Air Force is also represented by a Blue Team, which is in 16th place in the team standings at 605. Leading the way for the Blue Team is sophomore Peter Guzowski (Tiffin, Ohio), tied for 39th at 148. Also competing for the Blue Team are freshmen Aaron White (Hereford, Texas) and Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas) and seniors Matt Tanis (Asbury, N.J.) and Jared Freeman (Brazil, Ind.), while Lucas Catalano (So., Lousiville, Colo.) and Kyle Hagen (Fr., Kingsport, Tenn.) are competing as individuals.
