Whitney Concludes Day Two at NCAA Regional

SANTEE, Calif. - With just one round remaining, Air Force senior Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) sits in a tie for 35th place at the 2010 NCAA Men's Golf Southwest Regional Championship, being held at the par-72, 7,360-yard Carlton Oaks Golf Course.
Whitney, one of 10 participants in the regional competing as an individual, shot a 3-over-par 75 on Friday to bring his two-round score to 150 (+6).
Nick Delio of Cal State Northridge leads the individual competition, firing a 69 in round two to sit at 4-under-par (140) for the tournament. Meanwhile, in the team standings, second-ranked Oregon sits atop the leaderboard with a two-round score of 584 (+8).
At the conclusion of the regional competition, the top five teams and top individual not on an advancing team will move on to the championship finals, being held June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Southwest Regional concludes tomorrow with one final round. Whitney will tee off from hole 10 at 9:40 a.m. (PT).
