Falcons Finish Ninth At MWC Championship

    Tucson, Ariz. - With the conclusion of all three rounds, the Air Force golf team finished in ninth place at the Mountain West Conference Championship, being held at the par-71, 7,136-yard Catalina Course at Tucson National. BYU claimed the team title, finishing at 846 (-6), just one stroke ahead of second-place UNLV. Meanwhile, TCU's Robby Ormand defeated San Diego State's Adam Porzak in a playoff to take medalist honors, as both finished at 207 (-6).

    The Falcons fired a 312 on the final day , finishing at 924. Leading the way for Air Force was senior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.), who finished tied for 26th at 221 (+8). Andrew Gibson (So., San Ramon, Calif.) was next in the standings, finishing 37th at 232, while sophomore Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) placed 39th at 236.

    Rounding out the group for Air Force in its final competition of the season were Bob Whitney (Jr., La Quinta, Calif.), finishing 42nd and senior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas), placing 44th overall.

    In addition, Goulding was named to the All-Mountain West Conference team, earning the honor for the second time in his career.
