Air Force Wraps Up First Day of Competition at Cowboy Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - With the first two rounds of action complete, the Air Force golf team currently sits in 18th place at the Cowboy Classic, hosted by Wyoming at the par-70, 7,133-yard Talking Stick-North Course. The Falcons combined for a two-round score of 597 (+37) on the opening day of competition. Leading the way for Air Force on the first day of competition is senior Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas), who is currently tied for 46th individually. Bailey, who fired a team-low 70 in the second round, has a score of 146 after two rounds, just one stroke ahead of teammate Philip Colwell (Fr., The Woodlands, Texas), who is tied for 54th place. Freshman Kyle Westmoreland (Katy, Texas) is next in the standings for the Falcons, tied for 84th at 152, followed by Caleb Leestma (Jr., Seabrook, Texas) and Andrew Hoops (So., Highland, Calif.), with scores of 154 and 155, respectively. Baylor leads the team standings, firing a 5-under-par 555 on the opening day of competition. Meanwhile, Colorado State’s Zahkai Brown sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 7-under-par 133 after two rounds.
