Falcons Wrap Up Day One at Ron Moore Invitational

    Goodyear, Ariz. - At the conclusion of one round of competition, the Air Force golf team sits in 16th place at the Ron Moore Invitational, hosted by Denver at the 7,015 yard, par-72 Palm Valley Golf Club. The Falcons are currently 12-over-par with an opening round score of 300.

    Leading Air Force after one round is sophomore Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.), tied for 32nd with an even-par 72. Junior Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is two strokes behind, tied for 50th at 74, while senior Bob Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) is tied for 66th at 76.

    Rounding out the group for the Falcons are freshman Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas) and junior Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.) with first-round scores of 78 and 79, respectively.

    San Diego leads in the team standings with an 11-under-par 277, while Boise State's Trey Merritt and Mathieu Rivard and Darren Hupfer of the Canadian Development Team are in a three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard at 66 (-6).

    Round two begins tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. (PT) start.
