Falcons Try To Defend Title at Service Academy Championship

Tourney begins Monday, Oct. 22 in Colts Neck, N.J.

JUNIOR YEAR | 2014-15: Played 21 rounds in seven events...recorded a career-best three-round total of 215 (-1) to tie for 22nd at the Jackrabbit Invitational...posted a career-best, team-leading round of 67 at that tournament (third round)...was the team's top finisher at the Cowboy Classic, tying for 61st with a score of 219 (+3)...posted the team's second-best finish a the Jackrabbit Invitational, Middleburg Bank Invitational (36th, 220) and PING Cougar Classic (30th tie, 221)...posted a 74.5 scoring average.

SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2013-14: Competed in two events...tied for third at the Bob Writz Invitational with a two-round total of 153 (+9)...career-best round of 73 in the first round of the Falcon Invitational...tied for 45th at that tournament, with a three-round total of 223 (+7)...posted a 75.2 scoring average.

FRESHMAN YEAR | 2012-13: Competed in two events, the Falcon Invitational and Service Academy Classic...tied for 10th at the Service Academy Classic, following a career-low 74 in the third round...posted a 78.0 scoring average.

BEFORE AIR FORCE: Lettered four years in golf at Kamehameha High School...coached by Wesley Wailehua...two-time first-team all-state selection...Interscholastic League of Honolulu runner-up in 2010 and bronze medalist in 2011...bronze medalist at Hawaii state championship in 2010 and 2011...attended the Academy's Prep School.

PERSONAL: Son of Freddy and Sharon Zambo Fan...nickname is "Mikey" ... has one younger sister, Brittany, who plays golf at Colorado...majoring in geospatial science...future plans include becoming a pilot, but RPA (remotely piloted aircraft) controller is also an option...served as Standardization and Evaluations Officer and CS04 Sponsor Base Cadet-in-Charge...received Solo Wings after completing Powered Flight over the summer...also served as cadre during Basic Cadet Training and took an astronautical engineering class...hobbies include golfing, swimming, running, flying and traveling...enjoys Asian food...favorite professional golfer is Phil Mickelson... greatest moment is sports holing out on the 9th hole in front of Johnny Miller at the U.S. Open Sectionals... credits his parents with the biggest influence on his sports career...started playing golf at age 10...swing coach is Kevin Ralbovsky...member of Cadet Squadron 04.
