Rembert named first-team All-America
Nov. 29, 2010
Air Force senior defensive back Reggie Rembert was named first-team All-America today by the American Football Coaches Association. Rembert is the first Falcon to earn first-team honors since Carlton McDonald was named to multiple first teams in 1992. Rembert is the second Falcon in the Troy Calhoun era (2007-present) to earn All-American honors, joining Chad Hall, who was a third-team selection in 2007.
Rembert tied for third in the Mountain West Conference in interceptions with a team-leading three and was second in passes defended with a 1.00 per-game average. He was named mid-season All-American by CollegeFootballNews.com and was a nominee for the Hornung Award and the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Rembert was MWC and Walter Camp Football Foundation national player of the week for his efforts against Colorado State when he had seven tackles, a fumble recovery, a interception and three pass breakups.
Rembert was a first-team all-MWC selection last year and earned preseason first-team honors in 2010. He is one of just two MWC players named to the AFCA All-America team, along with TCU linebacker Tank Carter.
