Air Force football senior defensive back Jon Davis added a second and third weekly honor to this resume after his 12-tackle performance in the win against Army. Davis was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week and also earned honorable mention defensive back of the week by the College Football Performance Awards (CPFA).
Davis tied a career-high with 12 tackles as Air Force captured the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy for the second consecutive year with a 24-14 victory over Army. Davis, who has posted double-digit tackle totals in four games this season, also ended a pair of late Army drives with his defensive efforts. On the Black Knights' first drive of the fourth quarter, Davis forced and recovered a fumble to give the Falcons possession of the ball with a 24-14 lead and 13:27 remaining in the game. On Army's next drive, he intercepted a pass with 3:53 left to play, returning the pick 20 yards to set up Air Force's final drive.
Davis also earned Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week honors as well.
