Air Force linebacker Alex Means was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against New Mexico. This is the second-career player of the week honor for Means.
Means recorded a season-high-tying 10 tackles, including five solo stops, in Air Force's 28-23 win over New Mexico. The Mankato, Minn., native also had one sack for 10 yards, 1.5 tackles for loss for 12 yards and one pass breakup. The senior registered his second interception of the season and returned it a career-best 65 yards for his first career touchdown to give the Falcons the first lead of the game, 14-10, late in the second quarter. Late in the fourth quarter and with Air Force holding a five-point lead, Means assisted on a tackle for loss on fourth-and-four at the Falcons' 12-yard line, ending a New Mexico drive and returning the ball to the Academy with 3:57 remaining in the game.
