Air Force running back Cody Getz was named to the College Football Performance Awards honorable mention team this week, one of nine running backs in the nation to earn the honor. It is Getz's fourth CFPA honor through five games this season.
Getz ran for 204 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries in Air Force's 28-21 overtime loss to Navy. It was Getz's fifth-straight game over 100 yards rushing and the second-straight--and third overall--game of over 200 yards rushing. He is the first Falcon to rush for 100-plus yards in five consecutive games since Beau Morgan in 1995 and the first-ever to start the season with five straight.
The senior from Buford, Ga., currently leads the nation in rushing yards per game at 177.4 ypg. He has 887 yards rushing through five games, including eight touchdowns.
