Air Force Athletics to participate in the Extra Yard for Teachers

Colorado Springs, CO - Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation (AFAAC) announced today it will participate in the Extra Yard for Teachers promotion in conjunction with the Mountain West Conference and the College Football Playoff Foundation.

EYFT is the primary platform of the College Football Playoff Foundation and is an eight-day event each September supporting teachers, centered around the college football regular season.

“We are thrilled to recognize the outstanding teachers in the Pikes Peak region that have gone above and beyond and made a difference in this community,” said Dr. Nancy Hixson, AFAAC chief executive officer.

Elementary and middle school students from around the Pikes Peak region are encouraged to fill out the nomination form at GoAirForceFalcons.com/extrayard in support of their favorite teacher. Air Force Athletics will recognize 10 teachers on the field during the September 23 football game against San Diego State. Each of the 10 finalists will receive a $1,000 grant to use on supplies in their classroom.
