The Troy Calhoun era has officially begun.

The Air Force football team opened practice Aug. 1 in preparation for the 2007 season with the team's annual media day, followed by the run test and first day of practice. The first practice went approximately two hours.

The Falcons open the 2007 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 against South Carolina State at noon at Falcon Stadium. Air Force begins Mountain West Conference play on the road at Utah, Saturday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. AFA's first home conference game is Thursday, Sept. 13, vs. TCU at 6 p.m. at Falcon Stadium. TCU was picked to win the conference by the league's media.
