U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The 2013 Air Force football schedule, released today by the Mountain West, features seven home games at Falcon Stadium.
The Mountain West scheduling format for the new 12-member football lineup consists of five intra-divisional games and three cross-divisional contests annually. Each institution will play four home and four road conference games each season.
Air Force opens the 2013 season with a pair of home games. The Falcons will host Colgate on Saturday, Aug. 31, and new conference foe Utah State on Saturday, Sept. 7. After a road game at Boise State on Friday, Sept. 13, the Falcons will host Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Falcons play at Nevada on Saturday, Sept. 28 and then travel to service academy rival Navy on Saturday, Oct. 5. Air Force returns home for a Thursday night game against San Diego State, Oct. 10. Air Force is off the weekend of Oct. 19 and then hosts a pair of games at Falcon Stadium. National power Notre Dame comes to the Academy on Saturday, Oct. 26, followed by Army on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Falcons play their second Friday night game of the season on Nov. 8 at New Mexico followed by the second off week of the season. Air Force hosts UNLV on Thursday night, Nov. 21 and concludes the regular season at Colorado State, Saturday, Nov. 30.
The 2013 Mountain West schedule will play out over 15 weeks, concluding on Sat., Dec. 7 with the inaugural Mountain West Football Championship Game to be played at the home stadium of the divisional champion with the highest BCS ranking.
Telecast information and kickoff times are being finalized and will be announced later this spring.
