The Falcon Football Pride Club is a network of former Air Force Academy football letter winners, coaches, parents, trainers, managers, administration, and support personnel.

To The Falcon Football Pride Club:

Thank you for your commitment to the Falcon Football Pride Club. The FFPC continues to grow with the dual principles of creating a special camaraderie in addition to providing a conduit to give directly to Air Force Football. Your recent instrumental support led to enhanced recruiting and the overall experience our players have as Air Force Fighting Falcons.

As we enter our 3rd year of the Falcon Football Pride Club, there are several exciting events/plans for the 2009 season. A key FFPC initiative this year is to double membership and we need your help. Please encourage your fellow players to join the club and give back. I would also like to welcome Seth Tjaden as the new director of the Falcon Pride Club. Seth has been with the Academy for five years and will do a tremendous job for us.

We play another strong schedule this fall opening September 5th at home for Parents Weekend, then heading to Minnesota to unveil their new stadium September 12th. Contests follow against 8 outstanding opponents within the Mountain West Conference in addition to service academy foes (October 3rd at Navy and home November 7th against Army). Here are some of our upcoming events for 2009:

1) Honorary Game Captains - Former Air Force football players and/or coaches serve as honorary game captains for the coin toss prior to each game. It's been a fun experience for men who wore the bolts, while current players were spurred to have past Fighting Falcons join them on the game day field.

2) Heritage Hallway - With your backing Heritage Hallway has been completed. The project highlights the history and happenings of Falcon Football. Various pictures, murals and displays will cover eight alcoves that run through the north end of the football offices in the Athletic Facility. Thank you to those who gave to this project.

3) Adding to Falcon Football Legacy Wall at the Stadium - The Falcon Football Legacy Wall will include plaques that will run the length of the west side of the second level at Falcon Stadium. Each class will be represented by a plaque that will bear the names of that year's graduating players/managers and some of the team's history for that season. Last year we unveiled classes '59 - '63 and on October 17 we will unveil classes '64, '65, '70, '79, '82, '85 and '87. Each individual class can donate to the purchase their plaque at any time. If a class is able to raise $7000 by Aug. 2010, they will also have their plaques unveiled on alumni weekend next year.

4) 2009 Falcon Football Alumni Weekend - Over 160 former team members returned for the 2nd annual Falcon Football Alumni Weekend last November as we honored the 50th anniversary of the 1958 9-0-2 team that played in the Cotton Bowl. The spirit spilled over to our team as our players defeated Colorado State 38-17. This year's Alumni Weekend will be October 16-17 when we play Wyoming.

5) Air Force Football Video Library - 2nd Lt. Gilberto Perez ('07) worked diligently to convert 85% of all of the football games played in the history of the Air Force Academy from 1958-2000 into digital form. You can now order any of the listed games by calling 719.333.7826.

Thank you again for your support of the Academy and Air Force Football. Air Force Football has always been an incredible developer and contributor to the caliber of leaders who serve on active duty for our nation and beyond. Help us get the word out to fellow players/managers/parents/coaches.

Go Falcons!
