Fencing Team Members to Compete in the North American Cup

    Head Coach Abdel Salem will take 10 fencers to compete in the North American Cup in Sandy, Utah on Oct. 5-8. The North American Cups are a series of nine national competitions held throughout the United States every year. High placements earn competitors berths on national teams that compete at various events throughout the world.

    Competing Oct. 5-8 are team captains Elia Burrill in women's epee and Eric Lathrop in men's sabre. Also competing in the women's competition are Jamie Rasmussen (sabre), Ashley Roell (foil), Andrea Rix (sabre), Kimberly Sugrue (epee) and Margaret Kucia (foil). In the men's competition are Andrew Greig (sabre), Curtis Marshall (epee) and Sean Recame (foil).

    The fencing teams will also travel to Santa Fe, N.M. to compete in the New Mexico Open on Oct. 27-28.
