Ian Tuznik Claims Victory at NYAC Collegiate Invitational
NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Junior Ian Tuznik claimed a hard-fought decision over Army's Greg Madura in a heavyweight battle at the prestigious New York Athletic Club Collegiate Invitational on Monday, Nov. 21, in New York, N.Y.
Tuznik faced a tough battle from Madura, a heavyweight weighing in at 245 pounds. Using good jabs and solid one-two combinations, Tuznik was able to dominate the bout, en route to the hard-fought decision. Senior Luis Pena was the Falcons' only other competitor at the meet, dropping a 139-pound decision to former national champion, Todd Wilson of the Virginia Military Institute. Junior Willie Lloyd was also scheduled to compete, but an injury sustained prior to departure forced Air Force to cancel his bout. The Falcons return to action on Dec. 2 with another exciting round of Friday Night Fights. Action begins at 4:30 in the Upper Boxing Room of the Cadet Gym.
