Air Force to Host Army in Annual Showdown

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - One week after posting a 1-2 record against Army on neutral ground, the Air Force boxing team will host the Black Knights at the Academy on Friday, Nov. 2. The Falcons, who faced Army just last week in Detroit, will welcome their sister service academy to the Upper Boxing Room for a 4:30 p.m. showdown. Junior David Simon kicks off the event with a 135-pound match-up against Chad Moran, while classmate Austin Almand faces Dan Squiera in a 158-pound bout. Fellow junior Harvey White will toe the line with Anthony Terrel at 138 pounds, while sophomore Seth Gunn and Dan Hogan will face off at 144 pounds. In the lightest weight class of the night (125-pounds), sophomore Matt McPhail will enter the ring with Matt Longo, the national runner-up at 119 pounds last year. Junior Nathan Liptak will face Steve Henao in a 152-pound bout, before the weight division shifts to the heavier competitors. At 180 pounds, junior Elon Brumfield will take on Alonzo McNeal. Junior Andrew Catoire and senior Chris Johnson will take part in a pair of 185-pound contests. Catoire will face A.J. Pisano, while Johnson will match up with Nate Taylor.
